Two exclusive anime films will be screened during the HERO FACE OFF 2012, an added excitement to the annual cosplay event, attended by hundreds of anime enthusiasts all over the country.
This year, the big movie treats will be Gintama The Movie and Yugioh 3D Bonds Beyond Time that will be shown on July 7, 2012 at the SM Mega Trade Hall 1.
Summer Komikon 2012 is happening on May 26, 2012 at the Bayanihan Center, Unilab Compound, Pasig City, at 10 AM to 7 PM.
Meet and greet your favorite comic artist at the event, grab the freshest and latest comic book titles, show off your artistic side at the Comic Creation Contest, sample the future of Filipino Komiks, and much more!
Hero Face Off 3 is coming!
Hero Face Off 2012: The Ultimate Cosplay Battle will be held at SM Megatrade Hall 1 on July 7, 2012, a Saturday.
Domination 6 is scheduled this coming Saturday, April 21st, at the World Trade Center. Are you coming? You better do, cuz if you’re a gamer, I’m sure you’ve played at least one of the IP e-Games titles.
This is the 6th domination and will hopefully be my third time to attend.
Tournaments at the event include Ran Online Matira Matibay Tournament, Cabal 3v3 Carnage National Tournament, Point Blank Mega Bakbakan, Audition Dance Battle Master of Eight Keys and Bandmaster SOS Bagsakan.
Much-awaited by the gamers who go to Domination are the performers that will help liven up the mood at the event. This year, IP e-Games tapped the services of Up Dharma Down, Join the Club and Tanya Markova.
Karen Bordador and JC Cuadrado will be this year’s host.
Also, there will be job fair! So get those résumés printed out so you can land your dream job!

The 2nd PUP Otaku Xperience will happen on March 2-3, 2012 at the PUP Freedom Plaza, PUP Main Campus in Sta. Mesa, Manila. It is presented by the PUP Otaku U Rule who will also be celebrating its second year anniversary with the event.
The organization will also be launching the Ignite Anime campaign during the event. The campaign "is designed to reenergize and reinvigorate the anime fandom and individual anime brand with fun games and activities for the enjoyment of the general public."
Philippine Ragnarok Online is celebrating its 8 years in the online gaming industry tomorrow, September 24th, at the Skydome in SM North EDSA.
Main event is the Ragnarok Philippine Championship 2011 featuring the 8 finalists – Andrei & Friends, Harabas, Montage, Wanted, Bitzbox, iLoveJeniko, `Coerce, and Ruff Ryderz.

Cross Fire Philippines will be releasing a much awaited "Modern Warfare Patch" update tentatively set on September 29, 2011. This patch will feature 2 modern assault rifles namely the M14EBR (Enhanced Battle Rifle) which will set the standard for balanced assault rifle as the replacement of everybody's favorite M4A1 rifle and the RX4-Storm which will be attainable only through completing the monthly mission event starting October 2011. The Modern Warfare Patch will introduce a new soldier in Cross Fire's growing line-up of characters: the Black Raven squad.

The Pinoy Gaming Festival is happening on October 28-30, 2011 at the Cyberzone in SM North EDSA.
Event highlights include DotA and Starcraft 2 tournaments, cosplay contest with Alodia Gosiengfiao, and the first-ever planking competition and on-site photo contest.
Winners of the DotA and Starcraft 2 events will represent the Philippines at the SMM and WGC respectively.

Point Blank's ALODIA CHALLENGE will take place tomorrow, July 19, 2011 at EGG, G/F SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
Do you have what it takes to outdo the Cosplay Princess and her elite crew? Then go to EGG tomorrow, and be there early cuz registration starts at 1 PM. Only the first eight (8) teams to register will get slots in the elimination that will decide who will face Alodia Gosiengfiao and her team.

Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year with Philippine Toy Con 2011 at the Megatrade Halls 1, 2, and 3 of SM Megamall from 10 AM to 10 PM on both days.
Philippine Toy Con is also Asia's biggest and long time running convention for comics, toys, anime, cosplay, movies, gaming and anything related to hobby and collectibles, so expect a lot of top brands participating in the event.
Make your weekend fun-filled especially with the cosplay. A two-day pass only costs P200 each. Not bad, no? And you'd be inside Megamall so there would be a lot of cheap places to eat.
How would you like to play NBA 2K11 on a 100 square meter screen? Creativeworx Inc. will kick up the heat this summer by bringing PLAY BIG – a one-of-a-kind event where virtual athletes and fighters can have a larger than life gaming experience on May 20, 21 and 22, 2011.
The CCP LED board, which measures 100 square meters, will be the screen for participants as they play NBA 2K11 using PS3 as their console. This is the first time in the Philippines that a screen this huge will be used for a gaming event.

I was at the e-Games Domination V last April 2. I arrived at SMX around 4:00 PM while the Shure Band was performing. The band was the 2nd place winner of the battle of the bands during the R2D5 NCR leg.
The event was hosted by Eri Neeman and two other girls I didn't get the names of.
SMX was packed but I think there were more attendees last year. Well, correct me if I'm wrong but I could barely roam around last year. Or was it just the floor plan this year that made it seem more maluwang?
There were computers for free play but the line was oh-so-long. I just busied myself with watching Ran Online's "Flip Top" challenge in the game's booth. The last two standing battled it out on the main stage.
The judge was no less than Gloc9, who confessed that he doesn't freestyle himself. He just chose the one with better construction and rhyming. The one in black, named Gabby(?), won the battle, while the one in red, I guess, will be dubbed "Yo!" after that.
Audition Dance Battle also had a dancing event. Just like in Ran Online's, teams of three dancers were screened at the Audition booth and the last two remaining groups battled it out on the main stage. And one group was so obviously better than the other.
Of course Team 1 (the all-male team) won.
Highlight of the event was the cosplay competition. I had two favorites:
Unfortunately, none of these two won.
Open category was won by Rolando Logronio, a familiar name in cosplay, as Hades and Eli Chan(?) as a nymph from some anime.
E-Games category, on the other hand, had Christian Umali in the second place and Zyka Managad (?) in the first place. Zyka cosplayed a character from Granado Espada.

I went to Bonifacio Global City Open Field yesterday for the Yahoo!-Level Up! event. I arrived 2 pm expecting the activities at the Level Up! booth is already ongoing (their website says 12 noon).
Sad to say the only activity going on were people lined up to get freebies. 
The Yahoo! Purple Hunt Finale was about to start when we arrived but the few people present were watching from afar because of the scorching heat. 
The only ones near the stage were the participants.
Taguig City Mayor Freddie Tinga (center in black shirt) graced the occasion with his daughter (in white long-sleeved shirt). 
The top prize – Honda Jazz – was won by Calvin Galgana. 
It was so hot at the event that I left after the Honda Jazz winner was announced. I wasn’t able to take pictures because I was at the Level Up! booth getting my freebies.
